Cheltenham based businesswoman Fern Neveu of Truly Tailored Recruitment was named the winner of the HR and Recruitment Award at this year’s Women’s Business Conference & Awards. Hosted by the Women’s Business Club, the annual awards event took place on the 4th December in Cheltenham’s historic Pittville Pump Room.
The 34-year old has worked in recruitment for 7 years since she joined and is also Mum to daughter Lily. Fern comments,
“I am ecstatic to win this award. I love my career in recruitment and I work very hard to dispel the common myth that recruitment is an uncaring industry. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to help a candidate get the right job for them and also to help our clients to recruit outstanding staff that will help their business growth and sustainability. This award means a lot to me and is also proof to other single Mums out there that it is possible to balance a career with being a parent”
Abi Howell, Managing Director at Truly Tailored, explains that Fern is ‘recruitment through and through’;
“I first met Fern when she interviewed for a job for one of our clients. I was on the panel that day and I saw something special in Fern and offered her a job with us. She provides the best recruitment service to all her clients. Her driver is not about putting bums on seats and just charging clients for filling a role, it is more about building long term relationships. She takes her role very seriously and understands that what she does is vital to all parties concerned. The whole team are enormously proud of her”.
Delia Zanatta co-CEO of Otunli who sponsored the award said “I’m so glad that Fern was delighted. She truly deserved it. She’s got a real spark about her and I love her dedication to making a real difference, one person and one company at a time. She clearly feels a massive sense of responsibility and pride in what she does, which is so important. As she put it, “it’s not bums on seats, it’s peoples’ lives”. She is clearly very passionate about what she does and puts a lot of time and effort into building relationships.”
